I relate to this so much Liz! I've ran a few marathons and the experience and the process are so worth it. It is definitely so important to make sure we are striving for the right reasons. Thank you for this thoughtful post!

Trying to keep those “right reasons” on my heart as much as possible right now! I appreciate the comment and your support!

Super relatable. I have started running again, too, after stopping for 5 years and it’s hard. I’ve never done a marathon and have no interest anymore in that. Just getting off my ass at all is the hard thing I’m doing right now lol but yeah, those endorphins are so good for ADHD so I do want those back! Good luck! I’m rooting for you!

Some days, just getting off my ass is my only accomplishment as well!

"And do I want to?" Is the question that's often flooding my mind, especially when it comes to matters of motherhood. Whether you finish a book or a marathon, or both, or neither, I hope you show yourself compassion and grace and feel good about the steps you take along the way.

Thank you for this valuable reminder. I keep having to ask myself “what am I doing this for?” and reminding myself that there is literally no consequence if I don’t do it at all. As long as it’s still fun and exciting, I will strive. If it becomes only negative pressure, I will reevaluate. I agree that the same applies in motherhood… “why am I sending birth announcements by mail a week after my baby is born” was something I should have asked myself back then. I now try to focus on the stuff that really matters most instead of trying to keep up with the Instagram mom-fluencers. I hope you, too, will remember the grace and self-acceptance you deserve. I appreciate your reading and commenting. It means so much. ❤️
